Laurie lives on St. John, Virgin Islands for the winter months, where she performs with the ever popular "Hot Club of Coral Bay " and returns to her hometown of Gloucester, Massachusetts in the spring and summer. She often gigs with her well-known bluegrass group, Old Cold Tater.
" The Middle of the Storm", was recorded with Old Cold Tater in Gloucester during a wild nor’easter and on St John with the Hot Club of Coral Bay. On this album, Laurie wrote the autobiographical title track ,and several other cuts ranging from the bluesy "All the Time"to the swinging"Lost Without Your Love". The album also features two Ike Eichenberg originals, the beautful "Tango" by Morris Manning, an a cappella gospel song, and other standards and traditional numbers.
